Before the beginning there was the living, intelligent, creative Spirit we know as “God”; and everything was God, and everywhere was God! God created the universe, a void within Himself, a multi-dimensional “canvas”, into which he could focus His fullness “defining” Himself with shape and form, and became God’s Son, the Christ.
Colossians 1:15-17
God, as Christ, began to create and fill His universe with amazing and magnificent things, material and spiritual, things seen and unseen! As He stretched out space, time began. The great galactic light show, like a fireworks display, celebrated His glory and presence! More importantly He shared His life, in created beings (the heavenly hosts) inhabiting planes of existence beyond our senses! An audience to the celebration!
But not a captive audience! What fellowship could an intelligent and loving God have with mere automatons? Freedom was born; freedom to return God’s love or not! These are the “rulers and authorities” as described in the bible, civilizations with leaders and laws populating the universe in advance of the creation of Earth and humankind.
War in the Heavens
The Bible tells of a jealous leader, Lucifer, who led a rebellion against the Christ causing a cosmic war in which the combatants could not be killed, but could be overcome, bound and banished. The assault on God’s throne failed and the revolutionaries cast out.
Ezekiel 28:11-19 Isaiah 14:12-17
Did this eventuality come as a surprise to Almighty God? Or was the possibility of this evil tolerated by God to achieve something greater! Did free will fail or was this a step to something better? A new and different kind of being was created.
Humankind … Man or Beast?
Humankind is a dichotomy of eternal spirit and temporal animal body. We as humans find ourselves in a unique position. We are immortal, but we don’t know it! Though everything in our spirit tells us there must be more to our existence, it is only what our finite minds can perceive and our limited science measure, that is considered to be true. So only by faith can we fully understand what we are.
Heaven’s war comes to the Earth
The Bible tells us this wasn’t always the case. At one time we enjoyed the fellowship, love and trust of our Creator and shared in His immortality. But God’s enemy enticed humankind into trading innocence for knowledge, breaking the one and only law to be observed. We became as guilty as the worst, separated from God. The war and strife that began in the heavens is now mirrored on Earth, and the condition of shared guilt grows while those in the heavenlies who have remained faithful to God look on.
Ephesians 3:10-11
Heaven’s Peace comes to the Earth
Earth has become and remains a prison planet, quarantined from the rest of the cosmos. The fallen supernal beings holding humankind hostage, as playthings, perverting God’s purposes and inventing new evils! But the enemies of God have been outsmarted! As the depths of evil become fully exposed, so does God’s love! Now the impossible can be done. God can die! By entering into the human race and taking on a physical mortal body,
the One who made the law can take humankind’s death sentence upon Himself.
Philippians 2:6-11 - 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
